iPhonetography
Sometimes when an opportunity to create a photograph arises I don't always have my DSLR within reach. As much as I would like to, it is impractical to carry that heavy thing around everywhere I go. In some cases it's even a little intimidating to others when I walk around with a huge camera. However, I ALWAYS have my iPhone on me. The iPhone happens to have a pretty good camera on it, so when I see an image that is just waiting to be created I'll whip out my iPhone and see what happens. When you use your available lighting correctly, the iPhone can take some pretty impressive photos. It's all about using the tools you have to the best of your ability.
After all, it's not the camera, its the photographer that makes an image great. Also there is a lot more that goes into a photo than the camera. There is composition, subject, emotion, lighting etc. Think about this, would you tell someone who cooked you a delicious meal that they must have a really nice stove?
Here's a photo, taken on my iPhone, of one of my good friends while thrift store shopping at Yoshi Now. I loved how the pattern on the wall matched her scarf, so we had a mini photo sesh right then and there! Thank you Bre and iPhone for being so spontaneous. :)
